Sallies I have been trying to make this point
clear, albeit, unsuccessfully for years, "We
can't finally get on the right spending track,
we must stay on the right spending track, and
yes, there is a right spending track." Now
spending is a thing that is alive; it is not
like a nic nac, "That once placed carefully on a
shelf is finally then, in order." No!
When it comes to spending there is no end to our
stewardship or our vigilance. Because the
moment we lose sight of what is important, what
brings health and well being, all sorts of
semi-important things get ushered into the
budget. Arvin we are just a couple of little cogs and those big cogs up in Washington D. C., in their own imaginations have already conceived notions, of what is important. Even though their feet are wet, because the ship is sinking that's all right. For them what is important is their own legacy and that seemingly, is somehow separate, from the legacy of America and the hopes conceived at our founding. |
