Sallies,
once, I asked a man, who happened to be black, what he thought about
racism, and he gave me the most profound and wise answer, I've ever
heard. He calmly said, "I don't use it." Being
stunned, I asked him once again, what do you mean, and he kindly repeated,
no I just don't use it. My question to him was going to be this,
"why is it not racism when blacks hate whites, simply because they
are white, but it is racism when whites hate blacks, simply because they
are black? Perhaps, they justify their hatred because in America's
early days, slavery was practiced; however, this justification doesn't
seem real or right to me.
Arvin, where I come from, hatred of
people is not accepted, it is not right. The closest I come to hate,
in this life is to abhor sin and sinfulness, but still, this is not hatred
of people; it is sadness and grief over their behavior. |
